Isle of Pines
In the heart of the South Pacific lies a beautiful island surrounded by an emerald green lagoon. New Caledonia is a land like no other, offering visitors an insight to a paradise of undeniable beauty and ecological treasures, all waiting to be discovered.

The Isle of Pines is part of New Caledonia and is situated 50km south east of the mainland. The tall narrow pine trees are a feature of this 17km long island.

The sands of the Isle's Kato Bay will impress any visitor with its white, white, talcum-like beach.

Noumea
In the heart of the South Pacific lies a beautiful island surrounded by an emerald green lagoon. New Caledonia is a land like no other, offering visitors an insight to a paradise of undeniable beauty and ecological treasures, all waiting to be discovered.

The port of Noumea is a short distance from the city centre. Le Petit Train is one of the most popular ways of getting into Noumea and exploring the city.

The city is spread out over a long distance. The famous Tjbaou Cultural centre, one of the jewels of the South Pacific is an architectural masterpiece and is 20 minutes outside the centre. Many of the other sights are quite a distance apart and tours by motor trike, fun car, bike or helicopter offer the best way to see the city. Some great tours are on offer outside of the city, 4WD in the bush, hiking Mount Koghis, Kayaking the Dumbea River.

Coconut Park, with its towering palm trees, is the focal point of the city. Being the French administrative centre of the islands there are lots of public and civic buildings built in a distinctive French architecture. The city has some little gems; traditional Boulangerie (Bakery Shops), cafés (where you can taste New Caledonia's own coffee) and fabulous restaurants where you can sample fine New Caledonian foods cooked in a French style with imported French wines.

Aside from tours the most popular activity it to head to two beaches a short drive from central Noumea, Anse Vata and Baie Citron, here you can enjoy resort facilities, swim off the beach, eat at one of the small brasseries or do some souvenir shopping.

Suva, Fiji
The Fiji archipelago is at the crossroads of the South Pacific, with 333 islands for an exciting adventure or peaceful repose. The northwest region, where the sun shines almost every day and a tropical shower ends as quickly as it began, is home to the majority of the resorts. Built around a reef protected natural harbor, Suva, with its colonial buildings nestled alongside modern commercial venues, parks and a residential sprawl, is the home of nearly half of Fiji's urban population.

The people of Fiji are the most multi-racial and multi-cultural of all South Pacific island countries — this being reflected in churches of all denominations, mosques, temples and shrines. It is an exotic and fascinating culture filled with legends and rituals. Witness firewalkers, Kava Ceremonies, tribal drumming, dance and song.

Port Denarau
Port Denarau is the perfect departure point for day tours to the outer Fijian islands. Enjoy an idyllic day beachcombing or venture on shore to see traditional cultural displays. There's great shopping in the local markets.

Vila
From the moment you step ashore you'll adore the friendly ni-Vanuatu people with their welcoming smiles and hospitable nature. Vila has a natural harbour with a colourful blend of Melanesian, English, French and Asian influences. Shop for traditional souvenirs at the handicraft markets.
