Highlights of this cruise:

Harwich
HARWICH, on the northeastern tip of the peninsula and at the estuary of the rivers Stour and Orwell, has a long history as a port, sending out Elizabethan mariners like Drake and Hawkins on their voyages and providing the dockyards that built the Mayflower, the ship which took the Pilgrim Fathers to America.

Today Harwich is best known as Britain's main North Sea ferry terminal, though since ferry traffic goes no further than Parkeston Quay, this has left the old town, to the east, relatively undisturbed. The old town is a conservation area containing many historic buildings. If you find yourself with time to kill, there's enough to keep you amused for an hour or so, starting with the brightly painted Electric Palace, on King's Quay Street, a purpose-built cinema, fashioned in Edwardian Baroque in 1911 and still going strong.

Bergen
Bergen is located on the south-western coast of Norway, in the county of Hordaland, in between a group of mountains known as De syv fjell ("the Seven Mountains"). It is recognized as the unofficial capital of the region known as West Norway, and also recognized and marketed as the gateway city to the world famous fjords of Norway.

The oldest part of the city is on the north side of the bay of Vľgen. Here you find Bryggen, a number of old, wooden houses dating from the early 18th century.

A popular tourist attraction is the open air fishmarket on the harbour. Further down you find the main shopping area, rebuilt after a fire in 1916 in art nouveau and functionalism, around the main square Torgalmenningen. Several old quarters of white, wooden houses surround the centre, notably Nordnes, Marken and Sandviken.

Visitors should not miss the ride with the funicular up to Mount Flryen, where one is rewarded with a splendid view over the city and the fabled seven mountains.

Flam
Flľm is a Norwegian village at the inner end of the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the Sognefjord. The town is located in the municipality of Aurland, in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. Surrounded by steep mountainsides, roaring waterfalls and deep valleys, this area is a paradise for everyone looking for a one-of-a-kind experience with nature.

Flľm is known for its railway which is widely known as one of the world's most fantastic stretches of railroad. The exciting history of the railway can be learnt by visiting the Flľmsbana Museum in Flľm. Other attractions include the Otternes Farmyard, the Norwegian Wild Salmon Centre and the Borgund Stave Church.

Stavanger
Stavanger is a city and municipality in the county of Rogaland, Norway. Stavanger is the 4th largest city in Norway and has been nominated as 'European Capital of Culture 2008'.

Attractions in and near Stavanger include Preikestolen, or 'the pulpit rock'. It's one of Norway's most famous sights, and the region's most popular attraction. Set on a hill to the west of the Vľgen harbour, is the picturesque Old Town, with its white wooden houses and narrow cobbled streets. Here you will find the Canning Museum which offers a fascinating insight into the history of the city. Another interesting attraction is the the high-tech Norwegian Petroleum Museum, built to look like an offshore platform on the harbour.

Other activities include a salmon safari where you can swim with wild salmon in their natural habitat. Visitors can shop in Kvadrat, Norway's biggest shopping centre or visit Kongeparken amusement park, or the much-loved Butterfly Park.
